Funeral for Robert Lester Quinn, 84, of Knoxville, Tenn., was Sunday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. at Berry Funeral Home Chapel in Knoxville with the Rev. Dave Ward officiating.
Burial was in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Quinn died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at his residence. He was born March 20, 1919, in Hartselle to the Rev. R. L. Quinn and Rachel Harris Quinn, former pastor of First Baptist Church in Hartselle. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Hartselle. In Knoxville, he regularly attended First Baptist Church for many years with his family and was active as an usher and greeter. He graduated from University of Tennessee in 1942 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. An avid University of Tennessee football fan, he had a string of 61 consecutive years of never missing a home football game. Mr. Quinn owned a commercial printing company, Fidelity Printing Company, where he worked until his retirement in 2001. He was the brother of the late Lottie Quinn McCullough, Charlie Quinn and Irwin Quinn.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Edith Quinn of Knoxville, Tenn.; one daughter, Dr. Carol Quinn of Knoxville, Tenn.; a grandson, Masen Shreve of Knoxville, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Knoxville Zoo, 3500 Knoxville Zoo Drive, Knoxville, TN 37914.
