Funeral for Michael Davis Roberts of Hartselle, was Monday, Aug. 25, at 11 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Decatur with the Rev. David Rollins officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Roberts died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at his residence. He was born in Morgan County to Guy Davis Roberts and Elizabeth Blair Roberts. He graduated from the University of Alabama. He was a former assistant manager of the Decatur Chamber of Commerce, and was the first director of the Morgan County Industrial Association. Mr. Roberts joined North Alabama Industrial Development in 1988 and recently retired as Executive Director. He was actively involved in the community and was a former president of the Kiwanis Club, president of the Port Authority of Morgan County and was president and served on the board of directors of TVIDA. He was an elder in the Presbyterian Church and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Livingstone Roberts of Decatur; two sons, Dr. Michael Neel Roberts and Taylor David Roberts, both of Decatur; his mother, Elizabeth Blair Roberts of Hartselle; one brother, Larry Blair Roberts of Seminole, Fla.; and one granddaughter, Shelby Taylor Roberts of Decatur.
Pallbearers were Robert Franklin Smith, Dr. Edward Wilder Smith Jr., Montgomery Alexander Smith, James Stephens Livingstone, Dr. John Lary, Robert Brian Livingstone, Dr. D. Randolph Ramey, James Glenn Moore III, Edward Wilder Smith, and Senator Tommy Roberts.
Memorials may be made to the Dr. Kermit Pitt Pediatric Wing of Decatur General Hospital or Hospice of The Valley.
