Priceville rolls into Sweet 16 with blowout win over JPII

The Priceville Lady Bulldogs punched their return ticket to the 4A Northwest Regional with a resounding 67-29 road victory over area champ St. John Paul II in last Friday’s sub-regional matchup.

Priceville dominated the game from the start, leading 13-7 after the first quarter and 30-11 at halftime. They extended the lead to 48-25 heading into the final quarter, where they outscored JPII 19-4.

Abby Langlois finished with a game-high 23 points, eight rebounds and three blocks to lead the Lady Bulldogs. Lillyan Bloodworth added 13 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals. Madalyn Williams had 10 points and five steals.

Priceville (18-12) will face Hamilton, a 62-53 winner over Rogers, on Monday, February 19, at noon at Wallace State. Deshler and Good Hope will play in the other regional semifinal at 9:00 am.

Elena Nunez led St. John Paul II with 10 points.

Good Hope 60, Priceville 55
Priceville finished runner-up in the 4A Area 13 Tournament with a 60-55 loss to No. 2 Good Hope in a matchup between top five teams earlier in the week.

Abby Langlois finished with a double-double, 14 points and 14 rebounds, to lead Priceville. It was her 11th double-double of the season. Ashlyn Johnson added 11 points, while Carly Nelson and Bloodworth added eight points each.

Ivy Maddix led Good Hope with 15 points, while Ava McSwain had 12.

Midfield 66, Danville 34
The Lady Hawks’ season ended with a 66-34 loss on the road at Midfield in a 3A sub-regional game. Adily Alberti led Danville with 14 points and six rebounds. Reagan Prater added five points, while Aubrey Reed finished with four points and four rebounds.

Phil Campbell 55, Danville 50
Danville finished runner-up in the 3A Area 15 Tournament with a 55-50 loss to Phil Campbell last Wednesday. Alberti had 12 points and eight rebounds to lead the Lady Hawks. Prater added 10 points, while Ella Kate Tidwell and Olivia Vest finished with nine points each.
