Falkville boys, girls each pick up win

The Falkville boys’ and girls’ basketball teams picked wins this past week. The boys defeated Ardmore in the Hanceville Thanksgiving Tournament, while the girls defeated Cullman Christian.

Boys
Falkville 61, Ardmore 57

On the final day of the Hanceville Thanksgiving Tournament, Falkville (1-4) earned their first win of the season with a 61-57 victory over Ardmore. Dawson Fowler scored 13 points and had eight rebounds to lead the Blue Devils. Logan Fowler added 13 points, while Elie Harris had 11 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Cold Springs 48, Falkville 46

On Day Two of the Hanceville tournament, Falkville fell to Cold Springs 48-46. Dawson Fowler led Falkville with 19 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals. Cayden Butler added 12 points and six rebounds, while Harris had 10 points and six assists.

Corner 58, Falkville 45

On the tournament’s opening day, Falkville fell 58-45 to Corner. Dawson Fowler had a double-double, 18 points and 10 rebounds, to lead the Blue Devils. Harris added 12 points and six rebounds.

Girls
Falkville 58, Cullman Christian 32

Ellie Cate Hill had 23 points and seven rebounds in Falkville’s 58-32 win over Cullman Christian. Ivy Gilstrap added 11 points, while Leah Peirce had eight points and a team-high nine rebounds.

Elkmont 50, Falkville 37

On the final day of the Encore Thanksgiving Classic at Hartselle, the Lady Blue Devils (2-2) fell 50-37 to Elkmont. Abby Grace Tomlin scored 13 points to lead Falkville. Pierce added nine points, while Hill had eight points, six steals and five rebounds.
