Prep Football Roundup: Hawks win again

The Danville Hawks picked up their second win of the season with a 46-0 region win over Asbury.

Jace Glenn led the Hawks with 164 yards passing and three touchdowns as the Hawks improved to 2-5.

Christian Rodriguez ran for 146 yards and a touchdown, while Ben Ellenburg had two receiving touchdowns and a 62-yard punt return for a touchdown.

Danville will host region foe Vinemont on Friday.

North Jackson 40, Priceville 8
The Priceville Bulldogs’ 16-game region winning streak ended with a 40-8 loss to visiting North Jackson. The Chiefs jumped out to a 28-0 halftime and cruised to the region win.

Priceville’s lone score came on an 80-yard kickoff return by Blitz Clemons, who also ran for 72 yards.

Tyde Borden had 14 tackles to lead the defense, while Bronson Carroll added 13 tackles and a fumble recovery.

The Bulldogs were held to a season-low 111 yards of total offense.

Priceville (4-4, 4-1) visits Westminster Christian for a region game on Friday.

Red Bay 44, Falkville 22
The Falkville Blue Devils saw their postseason plans come to an end with a 44-22 region loss to Red Bay. The Blue Devils fell to 3-4 on the season and 1-4 in region play.

Landon Powers passed for 215 yards and three touchdowns to lead Falkville. Dawson Fowler had 102 yards receiving and a touchdown. Kole Fitzgerald had 35 yards receiving and a touchdown while Cash Lawrimore had a 29-yard touchdown reception.

Falkville will travel to Addison on Friday.

Fairview 39, Brewer 0
The Brewer Patriots dropped their third consecutive region game in a 39-0 loss to undefeated Fairview. The loss was their fourth in a row overall.

Cason Oden passed for 123 yards in the loss. Talon Comfort had 50 yards receiving while Austyn Holmes added 47 yards.

The Patriots are off this week and will play West Point next Friday.
