Special to the Enquirer/Morgan County Sheriff’s Office Elizabeth Linda Smith was arrested and charged with drug endangerment of a child and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

MCSO arrests Hartselle woman for child endangerment

According to a press release from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Elizabeth Linda Smith, 25, of Hartselle, has been arrested for drug endangerment of a child and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. 

The arrest was made Aug. 29 after a sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop near Nanceford Road and Highway 31 in Hartselle and found a marijuana wax dab and a bong in the vehicle. 

According to the release, a 5-year-old child was also in the vehicle. 

Following the arrest, officers contacted the Department of Human Resources, and the child was placed in the care of family members. 

Drug paraphernalia and marijuana wax were found in close proximity to the child’s belongings, according to the police report. 

Smith was booked at the Morgan County Jail on a bond of $2,800.
