Members of the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce met Wed., Aug. 16, to discuss the planning stages of the upcoming Depot Days Festival taking over the Hartselle Downtown area the week of Sept 16.

Chamber President Danielle Gibson said there are several new pieces being utilized for this year’s Depot Days in comparison to year’s past.

“One of the things I want to make sure to let people know is that the stage this year will be at the farmer’s market, not in the parking lot across from the depot,” Gibson said. “The St. Jude band is a big deal for us this year too. A portion of the proceeds from raised from Depot Days will go to St Jude.”

St. Jude will play from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 16 at the farmers market. Several other musical talents will also be included in the festivities.

“We have the Dozen’s coming, which is a rock band that often play in the Huntsville area,” Gibson said. “They are very good. We also have Lane maury from Cullman and plays country music. His bio that he sent me tickled me. He guarantees that everyone will have a great time when he is performing.”

The Art show and Car show will play a huge part of the Depot Days festival.

“The Art show is for both adults and children and the theme this year is sweet home Hartselle,” Gibson said. “You can still submit artworks for the show. The will be judged the morning of the 16th. Each winner will receive

a ribbon. The adult’s artwork will be displayed at the depot, and Slate Custom Framing and Gallery will display the kid’s artworks.”

The Depot Days festival will accept on site registration for the the car, truck and motorcycle show on Sept. 16.
