Funeral for Melvin Bomar, 92, of Falkville was Thur., Jan. 5, at
1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jason Bomar officiating and
Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Bomar died Tues., Jan. 3, 2017, at Falkville Health Care Center.
He was born May 19, 1924, in Madison County to Walter Ruben Bomar and Mattie
Lou Murphy Bomar.  He loved to hunt, fish and loved to play music. He was
one of the original builder’s of Barnett’s Chapel Church.  Mr. Bomar was a
veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. He was preceded in death
by his wife, Pauline Brown Bomar; his parents; two brothers, Milton and
Marion Bomar; and a sister, Irene Blankenship.
He is survived by three sons, Cecil Bomar (Linda Jo), Howard Earl Bomar (Becky) and
James Allen Bomar (Vikki); nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Daniel Bomar, Todd Bomar, Chad Bomar, Adam Dye, Matt
Bomar, Chris Bomar, Colton Dye and Dylan Bomar.

The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers at the Falkville
Healthcare for their wonderful care.
