Funeral for W.P. Goodwin, 83, of Joppa was Thur., Dec. 29, at
2 p.m. at New Salem Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Morgan officiating and
Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery.
Mr. Goodwin died Sun., Dec. 25, 2016, at 263 Hyatt Bottom Road
(residence).  He was born Aug. 5, 1933, in Morgan County to Lee
Roy Goodwin and Reedie Savannah Briscoe Goodwin.  He was a resident of the
Ryan Community for 60 years and was married for 58 years to Mattie O. Fite
Goodwin, who preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by two
sisters, Bernice Smith and Mary Lee Peters.
He is survived by three daughters, Nancy Goodwin Payne, Peggy Goodwin Segars and Deborah Goodwin Nelson-Hyatt; two grandchildren, Adam C. Nelson and Jeremy C. Nelson; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Becky Goodwin-Clemons (Clayton) and Linda Goodwin Morris (Dewayne).
Pallbearers were Adam Nelson, Jeremy Nelson, Marcus Nelson, Dustin
Briscoe, Chris Sandlins and Tony Clemons.
