Hartselle takes Eddie Preuitt tournament

The Hartselle Tigers volleyball team was in action this past weekend as Hartselle High School hosted the Eddie Preuitt tournament. The Tigers finished first by defeating Sparkman 25-17 and 25-16, Boaz 25-19 and 25-13, Brooks 25-18 and 25-17, Randolph 25-13 and 25-9, JPII 23-25, 25-13 and 15-10, Albertville 25-16 and 25-19 and Walker 22-25, 25-11 and 15-9.

The players for Hartselle racked up plenty of stats for the tournament. Megan Zuck finished with 61 kills, 9 aces, 8 blocks and 41 digs. Lexie Smith had 44 kills, 6 aces, 9 blocks and 11 digs. Britni Bell had 44 kills and 18 blocks. Jordan Finn finished with 30 kills, 10 aces, 6 blocks and 65 digs. Gabrielle Bili had 19 kills, 188 assists, 9 aces and 23 digs while Maggie Anderson had 1 assist, 1 ace and 47 digs. Maggie Smith had 5 kills, 2 blocks and 1 dig while Abby Arias had 7 aces and 17 digs.

Earlier in the week, Hartselle faced off with Austin and defeated the Black Bears 25-15, 25-15 and 25-15. Zuck led with 15 kills while Bili had 33 assists.

Hartselle also defeated Arab 25-15 and 25-18. Finn and Smith each accounted for 7 kills while Anderson had 9 digs.

Hartselle also got wins over Decatur (25-5, 25-10 and 25-8) and Pelham (25-17, 25-18). Zuck accounted for 19 kills for both games while Bili finished with 57 assists.
