Hartselle travel softball wins national championship

The Hartselle-based travel softball team North Alabama Rush won the USSSA C Class National Championship in Gulf Shores over the weekend.

They beat River Valley Extreme of Arkansas in the finals Saturday night.

Rush only lost one game and allowed 11 runs in the 10 games they played in the tournament.

Rush is coached by Jimmy Singleton, and assistant coaches are Michael Murphy, Bascom Smith and Duane Sparkman.

Members of the team are Kierra Stutts, Alanna Evans, Megan Smith, Zoe Waddell, Emily Hall, Sus Cruit, Samantha Wallace, Baylie Sparkman, Alyssa McMinemon, Jazzy Watkins, Mary Elizabeth Booth and Brylie Singleton.
