Falkville library board enjoys Christmas lunch

Birthday wishes are sent to Carson Haynes from his movi, Jenny Asherbranner. His special day was Dec. 21. Carson is the son of J.P. and Melinda Haynes.

Falkville Public Library will be closed for the holidays, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Regular library hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 8 a.m. until noon and 1 until 5 p.m. and closed at noon on Wednesdays.

Falkville Public Library Board members met at Freight House Restaurant in Hartselle Dec. 11 for a Christmas luncheon.

Among those attending, were Rhona Summerford, Pam McDonald, Tina Rogers, Jane Hill, Marie Sivley and librarian Jenny Asherbranner.

Ken Winkles has been appointed to represent Falkville City Council to assist in their projects. Members of the Board wish to send Christmas greetings to their patrons.

Herman and Adell Gibson celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary Dec. 22. Mrs. Gibson was the former Adell Harrison and the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Harrison of Falkville.

Falkville Elementary and High schools will be on Christmas break until Jan. 6. School was dismissed Fri., Dec. 20.

Crystal Williams was hostess at a Christmas party at her home last Dec. 17. Guests were women of First Baptist Church Falkville. The 32 guests brought their favorite salads to be shared with the group. Christmas decorations were used throughout the house.

A Christmas Cantata, “Glory in the Highest,” was presented at First Baptist Church Falkville Dec. 15.

Rhona Summerford, a library board member, has published a book, “The Falkville Collection.” The book is for sale at the library.
