Hartselle Jr. High gym to get new bleachers
The Hartselle Board of Education has approved a $65,000 quote to replace the bleachers inside the J.C. Pettey Center at Hartselle Junior High School.
Superintendent Dr. Vic Wilson said the bid is based on a state bid list price. However, Wilson said the project is likely to come under that price.
“I noticed that the current bleachers are too close to the sideline,” said Wilson, who is also a basketball referee. “So we are going to remove one row of bleachers from each side to give enough room between the court and the bleachers seating area to increase the safety of the students and the fans.”
Wilson said the remaining seating, which will be about 600 seats, will be enough to handle the junior high school student population.
