Richard ‘Floyd’ Sivley

Funeral for Richard Floyd Sivley, 88, of Somerville will be Sat., Sept. 7, at 2 p.m. at Center Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Pilkington officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be two hours before the service.

Mr. Sivley died Wed., Sept. 4, 2013, after a short battle with lung cancer. He was born April 20, 1925, to Walter Granville Sivley and Gertrude Lemmond Sivley. He was a lifelong member of Center Springs United Methodist church and was retired from 3M Company in Decatur. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Walter Rudolph Sivley and James Paul Sivley.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Evelyn Geraldine Sivley; two daughters, Sandra Little of Somerville, JoAnn Turner and husband Cecil of Decatur; two sisters, Mildred Holmes and Clara Stewart, both of Somerville; four grandchildren, Robin Turner Higdon and husband Michael, Gayla Turner Bailey and husband Michael, Chad Graydon and wife Miriaha, Patrick Graydon and wife Brandi; eight great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Valley for their love and care during his last week and special thanks go out to Dr. Moss, Dr. Becdach, Dr. Boyle, Dr. Carbolic and Dr. Neal.
