Eva’s Premier Bank robbed at gunpoint

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a man who robbed Premier Bank in Eva at gunpoint Monday afternoon.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. Monday, a white male entered the Premier Bank in Eva. The man was dressed in a blue-gray windbreaker and was wearing a ski mask.

He brandished a dark-colored handgun and demanded cash. The suspect left the bank on foot with an unknown amount of cash. Witnesses said the suspect left in a dark colored small SUV-type vehicle, possibly a Kia Sorrento.

Morgan County Sheriff’s investigators determined that the suspect parked his vehicle at a nearby business and walked to the bank. Upon leaving the bank, he retrieved his car and possibly headed west on Highway 55 toward the intersection of Highway 55 and Eva Road.

Investigators are still gathering evidence and witness statements.

If anyone has any knowledge of this incident, he or she is asked to contact the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office at 256-560-6196.
