Alabama Day was celebrated on Dec. 14 by members of the Joe Wheeler Chapter 291 at the UDC monument on the grounds of the Morgan County Courthouse.

Kay Neel gave a very informative talk about the history of Alabama while members and guests waved the Alabama Flag.

A special Christmas wreath was also placed on the monument by the members.

Joe Wheeler Chapter 291 Christmas projects included sponsoring an Angel Tree child and Elder Tree person and donating 138 cans to the Morgan County Can-A-Thon.

Gifts of puzzles and clothing were also given to the veterans at the Tut Fann State Veterans Home in Huntsville.

Joe Wheeler Chapter is one of the oldest women’s organization in Morgan County.
