Morgan MHA seeks help for Operation Santa Claus

The Mental Health Association in Morgan County is seeking donors for its annual Operation Santa Claus.

This project provides a Christmas party and gifts for clients of the Mental Health Center and patients at the North Alabama Regional Hospital in Decatur.

“Our clients are so appreciative of being remembered at Christmastime,” said Sue Brantley, executive director. “These adults have serious mental illnesses, and they may not have family or friends who support them.”

“Last year Operation Santa Claus provided gifts for 275 clients,” she added.

Help may be provided by:

•Calling the MHA office for the name of a person with a wish list. Shop for the person, spending approximately $35.

•Giving a tax-deductible donation of $35 to sponsor one person, Make check payable to the Mental Health Association and designate it for Operation Santa Claus.

•Buying a gift or giving a donation of any amount. Gifts need to be new, suitable for an adult, unwrapped and delivered to the MHS office by Dec. 7.

•Making a dessert for the Operation Santa Claus party, which will be held on Dec. 18.
