Hartselle girls set school records in Jesse Owens run

Two Hartselle High School distance runners set personal best marks and set school records at the Jesse Owens invitational 5K run on Saturday.

Eighth grader Taylor Barnett logged a time of 22:05.91 in the Silver Division, finishing in 98th place in competition with more than 250 runners. Teammate Reagan Bowling, a freshman, ran the race in 22:10.69 and finished in 102nd place.

Also, Brantley Owen posted her best time for the season at 23:09.86 while Mallory Faulkner ran the race in 23:57.49 and Kayla Norwood finished at 24:45.19.

Sarah Walker paced the Lady Tigers in the Red Division with a time of 27:23.45 and a 152nd place finish.

In the girl’s Green Division, Falkville High School’s Patricia Kilgore finished in 13th place with a time of 22:33.52. Caitolin Dotson and Rachel Davis followed her with times of 25:06.87 and 25:49.33, respectively.

Trina Badger finished 46th in the girl‘s Silver Division with a time of 21:05.83.

Hartselle’s boy’s team finished 36th out of 52 teams in the Silver Division.

Aaron Davis was Hartselle’s fastest runner in the boy’s Silver Division. He finished in 92nd place with a time of 18:43.06. Following him were John Paulsen with a time of 19:27.33, Chase Barrett with a time of 19:35.56 and Alex Wilt with a time of 20:56.60.

In the Green Division, Falkville High’s Alex Tuttle finished in 31st place with a time of 19:46.54. Following him in order were Blake Bradford with a time of 20:13 01. Brian Bradford with a time of 20:28.19 and Branden Shadden with a time of 20:56.97.

Priceville’s Tyler Johnson came in 35th in the Bronze Division with a time of 18:15.54. Will Dotson finished in 120th place with a time of 20:06.23.
