Gandhi, Gurley exchange vows

Sima J. Gandhi and Richard K. Gurley were married Sept. 2.

A close friend of the groom, Peter Aiello, officiated at Bella Montagna Estate in San Jose, Calif.

The bride, 29, is the daughter of Jagdish and Rekha Gandhi. She recently joined American Express as a director of business planning and strategy. Previously, she was a policy advisor to the U.S. Treasury Deputy Secretary. She graduated from Stanford University with honors, and earned a JD and LLM from New York University School of Law, where she was awarded the David Bradford Memorial Prize. Her father is CEO and president of EMT Labs in Mountain View, Calif.

The groom, 33, is the son of Richard and Jennie Gurley of Cullman. He is managing director of analytics at Evolent Health, a startup in Arlington, Va, which he joined earlier this year after leaving McKinsey and Company. He graduated from Hartselle High School in 1997 and from Vanderbilt University, summa cum laude, with honors and received an MBA from Duke University. His mother teaches math at Wallace State Community College and his father is a retired elementary school principal.

After returning from their honeymoon in Iceland, the couple will reside in the New York-D.C. area.
