8U Baseball All-Stars bounce back to win silver championship

The Hartselle 8U baseball all-stars started tournament play this past week in Cullman. After an 0-2 start in pool play, they bounced back to bring home the Silver Championship.

The 8U Tigers opened pool play with a 12-8 loss to Hayden on June 5th. In game two, Hartselle fell 11-2 to Joppa – Cooper.

Hartselle opened bracket play as the 12th seed playing 13th-seeded Joppa – Jarrett. The 8U Tigers prevailed with a 17-8 win to advance to the semifinals. In the semifinals, Hartselle defeated 16-seeded Arab 11-0 to go to the finals.

The 8U Tigers met up with 10th-seeded Morgan County East. Morgan Co. East advanced to the finals by defeating Hanceville Purple 17-4 and Fairview 13-12. Hartselle defeated Morgan Co. East 21-0 to wrap up the Silver Championship and finished with a 3-2 overall record.
