Jones leads Priceville over Rebels

TRINITY – Tyon Jones, of the Priceville varsity boys basketball team, led his team with 21 points as the Bulldogs claimed a narrow 58-55 win over West Morgan on Thursday night.

The Bulldogs used a dominating performance on the glass to get the win. Priceville outrebounded the Rebels 38-22. Brandon Speegle picked up 14 points in the win while McClain Thompson finished with 12.

The Rebels were led by Jauquez Chairs who tossed in 21 points. Ashton Owens scored 13 and Maurice Gray scored 12.

Priceville will take on Danville at West Limestone to on Tuesday night in the first round of its area tournament. West Morgan will battle Elkmont at Clements to begin their area tournament at 6 p.m., Tuesday.
