You are enough

Lauren Estes-Velez, Hartselle Enquirer

I don’t have any crazy stories to share today.

I enjoyed a long bike ride and run last weekend, so I had some time to myself to think in peace and quiet. In that time, I discovered one word that kept repeating itself: “enough.”

I didn’t feel as though “enough” meant, “You’ve had enough riding or running for the day.” I felt like it was a little deeper than that.

Something I struggle with is confidence and allowing myself to succeed, as I’ve shared in the past. Often, anxiety creeps in and tells me that what I’m doing isn’t “enough.”

Sunday morning, I put that lie to bed – and I want to share with you that, in my opinion, you need to also.

You are enough.

What you’re doing right now as a single mom or dad in providing for your children and managing your household is enough.

In your jobs, regardless of your stress level or workload, it’s okay to stop and take a breath and realize for that moment or day, it’s enough. You will have another day to come back and finish.

My exercise fanatics or consistent practitioners – let’s say you were recently injured doing what you love. It’s OK. You are enough. You will come back and get to do what you love again.

To all the runners: so maybe you didn’t set a personal record – or maybe you did, congrats! – but you are enough.

No matter where you stand in life or what you’re facing, never forget your worth.

Keep fighting the good fight. Your time is coming. You are enough.
