Wren auction welcomes the Garrison Family singers

Wren Auction Company, located at the intersection of Hwy 36 and Hwy 33 is pleased to host the Garrison Family Singers every third Saturday night at 6 p.m. There is no admission charge and free refreshments for those attending. The Garrisons do a variety of music that centers on the old fashion gospel music with a touch of bluegrass and country. The Garrison Family Singers includes Vernett Garrison, Gene Garrison, Junior and Gina Garrison, Steve Garrison, Dean Garrison Parrish, Robert Tidwell, Charley Garrison and Jerry Walker. Everyone is welcome to attend the singing. The Garrison Family has been singing together as a group since their childhood. They are a God fearing group that sings from the heart.

The Stroup and Stover Reunion was held on July 29, 2017 at First Independent Methodist Church in Flint City, north of Hartselle. The food, drinks and desserts were prepared by the women at the reunion. A video was shown of Hattie Mae Hardin who turned 99 years of age recently was shown on the TV screen during the reunion. Those in attendance included the following family members, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Stover, Brooke (Stover) McIntire, Patrick and Rebecca Caver, Zac Caver, Tylar and Lacey Caver, Bethany Shelton, Joel and Amanda Caver and son Ethan, Tim Robbins, Jerri Legg Kiel, Judy Caver, Karen Hogkins, Jimmy and Michelle Riggins, Bobby and JoAnn Robbins, Donna Terry, Kenny Jo Barkley, Wanda Mosey Gates, Susan McAbee, Katie Sue Hardin, Junior Stover and Tommy Riggins. Everyone enjoyed visiting and the wonderful food.

Special belated happy birthday wishes go out this week for Emily Lacy on Aug. 21, Aubrey McLamb on Aug. 21, Ella-Ruth Patterson on Aug. 22 and happy birthday wishes also go out this week for Jim Doherty on Aug. 24, Christa Campbell on Aug. 25, Melissa Griffin on Aug. 25, Trent Reynolds on Aug. 26 and also Lexi Mears on Aug. 27.

Wonderful happy wedding anniversary wishes go out this week for Greg and Heather Roden and they will celebrate their 21st wedding anniversary on Thur., Aug. 24. The Members of Shady Grove Baptist Church held a fundraiser benefit on July 8 for Danville Schools. The benefit raised a total of over $1,400 to help Danville Schools to meet their needs. A special thank you is expressed this week to all of the volunteers and all those who supported the event.
