New Center News

I recently had the opportunity to fly to Orlando with my mom, Evelyn Motes and my two sisters, Kaye Widener and Roxanne Widener. I was sitting out by the pool one day at the resort and I saw a sign that read: Children must be supervised by a parent or adult at all times. It is your parental responsibility. Psalm 127:3a says, “Lo children are a heritage of the Lord.” Children are too often seen as liabilities rather than the assets but the Bible tells us they are a reward. Psalm 127:3 says, “and the fruit of the womb is His reward.” These children are the ones that will have the opportunity to oversee the future. God values them highly and it wouldn’t be wise to mistreat them or consider them as a distraction or nuisance. It is our responsibility to bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord as it says in Ephesians 6:4.

Christian love and sympathy is extended this week to Donna Kirkpatrick and her family in the loss of her dad, Donnie Reeves.

Celebrating anniversaries are: Pat and Kristy Halbrooks on July 2 and Matt and April Dean on July 8.

Happy birthday wishes to: Colton Merritt on July 1, Mark Baim on July 2, Melissa Legg on July 3, Martha Reeves on July 4, Josh Lamberti and Michael Woodard on July 5, Laura Patterson on July 6, Jon Motes and Regina Long on July 7, Baron Bates, Lynlee Dove, Donna Speakman and Alex Estes on July 8, Mark Carlson, Kandy Gibson and Tripp Brown on July 9, Chris Spicer on July 10, Beverly Spicer on July 11, Tyde Borden, Solita Matthews, Jason Jenkins, Bud Gibson and Buddy Posey on July 12.
