Funeral for Harold Joe Barber, 76, of Priceville will be Thur., Aug. 27, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Richie officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Burningtree Cemetery.

Mr. Barber died Mon., Aug. 24, 2015, at his residence. He was born Nov. 11, 1938, to Hubert Ernest Barber and Ruby May Murphy Barber in Priceville. He became a farmer with his dad on their family farm and continued to farm and raise cattle throughout his lifetime. He was employed as a machinist for 56 years at Automatic Screw and Machine Products for 31 years and Specialty Machine Company for 25 years. During his retirement, he enjoyed many years of raising cattle, driving the dirt roads of the refuge, fishing the suzie-hole and living the good life. He was a Christian man, an ordained deacon, an uncle, a brother, a father-in-law, a Pawpaw, a daddy and a wonderful husband. He was a prince – A Child of the King! He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Barber.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Brown Barber; three daughters, Sis Hutchison (Tim) of Priceville, Phyllis Smith (Barry) of Minor Hill, Tenn. and Terri Hamilton (Keith) of Danville; daughter-in-law, Vickie Barber of Hartselle; two sisters, Jane Atchley of Priceville and Sandra Garner of Decatur; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Scottie Parrish, Rand Hutchison, Joey Barber, Jonathan Grant Parrish, Jameson Barber and Justin Byrd.
