GALLERY: Music to the ears
Violin students at F.E. Burleson Elementary School recently held a performance for parents Friday morning in the school library.
The students completed the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra’s School Violin Program Friday.
Every third grader at F.E. Burleson Elementary has received 10 class violin lessons from Teri Nelson of The Symphony School of the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra.
According to school officials, all the third graders have responded to the violin lessons remarkably well and have had a lot of fun.
The HSO’s Violin Program has received statewide attention and was featured at the regional meeting of the American Symphony Orchestra League. The curriculum uses a modified Suzuki approach and has been very successful in many school districts.
Third graders at Crestline and Barkley Bridge Elementary School also participated in the violin classes. They also recently held their performances, including Crestline, which held it on Thursday.
