School calendar finalized

Hartselle City Schools has finalized its calendar for the 2015-2016 school year with four early release days.

The board approved the new calendar unanimously Monday night during its regular meeting at Hartselle High School.

School Superintendent Dr. Vic Wilson said he hasn’t received much feedback on the new calendar, but he said all of the feedback received during the first half of this year helped them develop the new calendar.

“We received a lot of feedback from parents over the past couple of months,” Wilson  said. “I think everyone likes the new calendar.”

Wilson also cut back the early release days for the spring semester back to four.

In other action, the board:

• leased three Xerox copiers from Berney Office Solutions in Huntsville.

• allowed the Morgan County Community Task Force to use the Hartselle Vocation Center for afterschool tutoring.

• granted a day of leave for Tammy Jenkins on Oct. 2.

• accepted the resignation of Crestline lunchroom manager Renee Owen.

• moved Belinda Logan to CES lunchroom manager.

• hired Stacey Patrick Fairbanks as a custodian.

• added Sally Woodall to the substitute list.
