Funeral for Lawrence Dean Johnson, 61, of Falkville will be Sat., Nov. 1, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Clyde Ledlow and Bro. Dennis Shadix officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Bell Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Fri., Oct. 31, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Johnson died on Tues., Oct. 28, 2014, at Brookwood Medical Center. He was born Sept. 27, 1953, in Indiana to Lawrence Edgar Johnson and Rosie Lovella Russell Johnson. He was formerly employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber as a Maintenance Coordinator and retired after 35 years of service. He went back to work at Hyosung USA for 7 years until his sickness began. Mr. Johnson was a hard worker and would do anything to help someone in need. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, who had many loving friends. He really enjoyed riding motorcycles with the “Hogs” and was a big Alabama Fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Kenneth, Milton, and Bobby Johnson and James “Red” Miller; two sisters, Brenda Emerson and Marie Boyer; and his in-laws, L.P. and Betty Hart.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Hart Johnson; two sons, Derek Johnson (Fiance’-Kate Birdsong) and Jeff Sandlin (Yvonne); a brother, Thomas Johnson (Sue); three sisters, Linda Perry (Mike), Clara Holt (Andy) and Marsha Johnson; two grandchildren, Jacob Sandlin and Blake Sandlin (Kayla); brother-in-law, Bobby Hart (Diane); and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mike Floyd, Gene Shandor, Kent Gable, Richard Barnett, Dan Welch and Franchot South.
