Lady Tigers split home tri-match

The Hartselle Lady Tigers split a home tri-match with Madison Academy and Grissom Thursday.

Hartselle (15-10) lost to Madison Academy 25-16, 25-21 and defeated Grissom 21-52, 25-18, 15-12 in the nightcap.

Haley Jared led the Lady Tigers against the Lady Mustangs with three kills, 10 digs and a pair of blocks. Megan Zuck had a pair of aces, four digs and a block, Taylor Lybarger scored three digs and a block, Melissa-Paul Hill had six assists, four digs, an ace and a block, Sarah Ellen Battles had 12 digs, Bailey Powell collected a pair of kills, a block and a dig, Jordan Barbrey had four digs, Hannah Warren picked up four digs and Katy Beth Bole had a pair of blocks and a dig.

Jared led the way again against Grissom with seven kills, two blocks and 10 digs. Zuck and Powell each added six kills.

Lybarger added four kills and 11 digs while Hill had four kills, 24 assists, five blocks and six digs. Battles also contributed 18 digs while Bole had two kills and three blocks. Barbrey also had two assists and four digs.

Lady Tigers split with Lexington, LCHS

Hartselle’s Lady Tigers defeated Lawrence County High School 25-18, 27-29, 18-16 and lost to Lexington 25-22, 20-25, 15-17 in a tri-match at home Monday.

Leading Hartselle in combined scoring was Haley Jared with 25 kills, 23 digs, an assist and an ace. Taylor Lybarger was credited with 14 kills, 17 digs, a pair of aces and a block, Melissa-Paul Hill had 65 assists, three kills and a block, Megan Zuck scored 14 kills, three digs and a block, Sarah Ellen Battles had 29 digs, Bailey Powell had 10 kills, four digs, two blocks and two aces and Katy Beth Bole had five kills, two digs and an ace.
