Bethel splits 2 last week

Bethel’s varsity boys basketball team (4-2) fell in a heartbreaker Friday night to Cornerstone Christian, 65-64. Bethel led at halftime, 32-27, but foul trouble was too much to overcome in the second half with two starters fouling out with five minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Bethel was led in scoring by their outstanding sophomore center Mitchell Gamble with 27. Clint Chisgar added 15 followed by Andrew Dodd with nine, Isaac Bunner with eight and Tyler Lawrence with five.

Cornerstone was led in scoring by David Clark, 24.

Bethel earned its fourth win by defeating Lindsey Lane Christian, 49-39.

Bunner led the Bobcats with 14 while Gamble had 13. Chisgar finished with eight followed by Dodd with seven and Cole Schmidt with two. Lindsey Lane was led in scoring by Connor Brown, 19.

Bethel’s JV fell to 0-8 with losses to Cornerstone Christian, 46-12 and Lindsey Lane Christian, 23-18.

Bethel was led in scoring by Sam Murphy in both games with 12. Cornerstone was led in scoring by Christian Lewis with 10.

Against Lindsey Lane, Thomas Secrest added four and Caleb Lawrence scored two. Lindsey Lane was led by John Lauderback with 11.
