Buey Lamar Long
Funeral for Buey Lamar Long, 78, of Danville will be Saturday, June 18, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Forrest Long, Tom Salter and Jack Bailey officiating.
Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, June 17, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Long died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born June 22, 1932, in Morgan County to William Burnice Long and Ettie Belle Kirby Long. He was a Sargeant in the U.S. Army, was an avid fisherman and loved to go camping. He loved to play baseball when he was younger and watch baseball when he was older. He retired from Birmingham Nashville Express in 1995. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Raythal Long; and a daughter, Debbie Javon Long.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Elnora Wallace Long; a son, Dale Long and wife Cynthia of Danville; two daughters, Lisa Kelsoe and husband Steve and Marla Marshall and husband Bill, all of Danville; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Gary Long, Jerry Summerford, Jason Eady, Levi Smith, Casey Long and Medford Long.
