Tee it up at New Center Church’s golf tournament

If your yard looks like ours you may be getting ready to put the lawn mower away and get ready to rake the leaves and pine straw. With the no-burn law in effect we can’t burn the leaves. They will need to be bagged or hauled off. I guess that’s just part of fall.
Christian love and sympathy is extended to Bro. Jim Newton and family in the loss of his brother, Billy Newton, and family and friends of Matt Day and Alice Day. .
On Saturday, Meagan and Kayla Widener traveled to Auburn for the Auburn vs. South Carolina football game.
Javon Alldredge and Kaye Widener enjoyed shopping at Bridge Street on Saturday.
Happy first wedding anniversary wishes go out to our son and daughter-in-law, Jarrod and Whitney Alldredge. They celebrated their anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 26.
On Sunday afternoon, Darren Tucker and his daughter, Darian, were honors by family members with a lunch to celebrate their recent birthdays.

If you are a descendant of T.B. “Bud” and Effie Reeves Maples, we are looking forward to seeing you at the Maples Family reunion at the Hillard Long Community Center in Somerville on Sat., Oct. 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. You are asked to bring a covered dish and pictures to share.

New Center Baptist Church will host a church-wide picnic on Sunday, Oct. 3, at 3 p.m. at Veterans Park in Priceville. The men will grill their favorite meats and the ladies will bring side dishes and desserts. Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs and any games that you’d like to play. There will be no evening worship service at the church.
Attention all golfers: The New Center Golf Tournament will be held Sat., Oct. 9, beginning at 7:45 a.m. at Quail Creek Golf Resort. Proceeds will go to the church building fund. There’s a need for golfers and volunteers to make homemade ice  cream. Sponsorships are $50 ad $100. The fee for golfers is $60 each, or $240 per team.
