Bulldogs get homecoming win over New Hope

Priceville continued its region dominance with a 36-14 win over New Hope. The win was the 15th consecutive region win dating back to 2021.

After a scoreless first quarter, Priceville got on the scored board when quarterback Jake England scored on a one-yard run to give the Bulldogs a 6-0 lead. New Hope answered with their own one-yard run to take a 7-6 lead following the extra point.

Blitz Clemons responded with a 61-yard touchdown run and then a 2-point conversion to put Priceville back on top, 14-7 heading into halftime.

England extended the Bulldogs’ lead to 22-7 with a 3-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter. The Indians cut the Priceville lead to 22-14 with a 15-yard touchdown pass. Once again, Clemons answered, this time with a 20-yard run that came on fourth down to extend the lead to 28-14.

Riley Wagg’s interception on New Hope’s next drive gave the Bulldogs great field position. England capped off the short drive with a 2-yard run for a 36-14 lead.

Wagg ended a potential Indian’s scoring drive with his second interception to seal the Priceville victory.

Clemons finished with 203 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs attack. England had 47 yards rushing, three touchdowns, and 33 yards passing.

Tyde Borden led the defense with 12 tackles, while England had nine tackles. Wagg had four tackles with two interceptions.

Priceville (3-2, 3-0) hosts undefeated Scottsboro in a non-region game on Friday.
