This past week, a Somerville man explained he “just wanted to go to jail” after throwing a rock through the front glass door of the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office lobby, according to an investigator’s affidavit.

Jason Michael Anello, 45, was charged with first-degree criminal mischief for breaking the door deputies said will cost over $2,500 to repair.

Morgan County Jail staff said they witnessed the rock throw while they were working in master control. When staff confronted Anello, he admitted to throwing the rock because he wanted to go to jail, according to the affidavit. Jail staff detained Anello and escorted him to a holding cell.

Aug. 15, Anello remained in Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
