Knights 8U softball brings home USSSA championship

The Knights South 8u – Marucci Founders Club softball team won the USSSA Gulf Coast (Class C) National Championship in early July.

The team finished with a 4-0 record, outscoring its opponents 46-17 to earn the title.

The Knights finished the 2022-23 season with 113 wins and 18 losses. They played in 23 championship gmaes with 18 championship wins and five runner-up finishes.

The Knights won a World Series, National and State Championship during the season, finishing #1 in Alabama and #1 in the Nation in C class. They also finished #1 in Alabama and #5 in the Nation in B class.

Members of the championship squad include Oakley Morgan, Bayleigh Harris, Scout Trussell, Trinity Martin, Skylar Burns, Finleigh Bates, Finley Whited, Harley Miller, Oakleigh Bates, Kayleigh Speck and Finlee Taylor.

Coaches are Samantha and Joshua Bates, Lana Trussell and Ryan Speck.
