Fill the Bus school supply drive begins July 21

By Staff Reports

To a school-aged child, a backpack filled with pencils, notebooks, erasers and all school supply necessities can make the difference in feeling different and feeling equipped for a new school year.

The Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce will provide an outlet for community members to supply donations for children in need beginning July 21.

During the Fill the Bus program, buses are parked in prominent community locations for the week prior to the beginning of school.

The community is invited to “Fill the Bus” with school supplies that will be donated to Hartselle schools.

Specific school supply needs are:

  • Hand-held pencil sharpeners
  • Multi-colored highlighters
  • Scissors
  • Glue sticks
  • Earbuds
  • Packs of five or eight dividers with pockets
  • Composition notebooks
  • Graph composition notebooks
  • Girls black legging pants sizes extra small through extra large

The supply drive will be held from July 21-28. It is sponsored by the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce, Family Source Credit Union, One Source Office Products and Hartselle First Assembly of God.
