To go along with the summer temperatures, Hartselle will soon be celebrating Summer Daze, a two-day dining and shopping experience hosted by the Downtown Hartselle Business League (DHBL) and presented by Redstone Federal Credit Union. 

Scheduled for July 14-15, the planned events will showcase Hartselle’s downtown commercial district in order to increase community pride and engagement, as well as improve consumer and investor confidence in the area. 

The first of the events will begin that Friday evening with the Summer Daze restaurant tour. As the name suggests, the evening will consist of a tour through participating downtown food and drink merchants as they offer a variety of unique samples of menu items specific to each location. Participating restaurants will include numerous Hartselle staples, such as Moe’s BBQ, Pizza Ed, Freight House, Warehouse Coffee and more. 

A $50 ticket will include vouchers for each participating restaurant, and can be picked up either at the Chamber office on Railroad Street between July 10-14, or on the evening of July 14 from 5-6 p.m. 

Then, on Saturday, stores and shops spread all across the downtown Hartselle area will be taking part in the Summer Daze Sidewalk Sale. Participating businesses will include everyone from Crossroads Old and Antique, to Main Street Bakery, to The Beehive Bath House, just to name a few. 

Also happening that Saturday will be the Dog Daze of Summer Dog Parade, presented by Newman Veterinary Research Hospital. Beginning at 9 a.m., participants can bring their dogs to take part in the festivities and check out local vendor booths. 

The price for parade entry will be $15 per dog. Vendor booths will be free, while booths requiring electricity will be $20.
