Local golf teams, players advance to sub-state

Three local teams qualified for sub-state with solid finishes in their sectional tournaments. Hartselle and Priceville boys finished in the top four to advance, while Hartselle girls finished third.

Class 6A, Section 4 Boys

Hartselle shot a combined 333 to finish third in their sectional tournament at Terri Pines in Cullman. The Tigers finished behind Cullman (297) and Athens (332). Alabama signee Tristin Wisener lead Hartselle with an 80. Cain Armistead finished two shots back with an 82, while Riley Partain shot an 85 and Easton Agee shot an 86.

Class 6A, Section 4 Girls

Hartselle finished third behind Cullman (250) and Buckhorn (307) after shooting 310. Jinger Heath finished second with a round of 75.

Class 4A, Section 4 Boys

The Bulldogs finished fourth with a 334 in their sectional tournament at Robert Trent Jones School Master in Florence. They finished behind Haleyville (322), Brooks (329) and Rogers (333). Priceville’s Cole Lindeman shot a 75 to finish as the low medalist. Teammate Sammy Holmes shot 78 for a fourth-place finish.

Class 4A, Section 4 Girls

Priceville’s Hayden Howell qualified for sub-state after shooting 107 in the Lady Bulldogs’ sectional at Robert Trent Jones School Master in Florence.

Class 5A, Section 4

Brewer’s Kaden Cobb qualified individually for the 5A sub-state by shooting a 75 in Brewer’s sectional tournament at Cherokee Ridge.
