The Carpenters Cabinet serves South Morgan

The Carpenters Cabinet, located at 44 Railroad Ave., in Falkville serves all of Southern Morgan County. They are open on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The food pantry and community-resource center can serve 22 clients per-week with a food box that provides a week’s worth of food for a family. Funding for the Carpenters Cabinet comes from churches, civic organizations and personal donations of cash or food. The Carpenters Cabinet has 15-20 volunteers who are certified by the SNAP Coordinator Center. The Carpenters Cabinet also accepts emergency calls for food. According to the Carpenters Cabinet staff, you will not only receive a food box but will be covered in prayer. First Baptist Church at Falkville to hold VBS

The members of First Baptist Church of Falkville will hold a VBS on Wednesday nights May 3-24 from 5:30-8 p.m. Children 4-years-old through the 12th grade are invited to attend.

Falkville Fire and Rescue News

The Falkville Fire and Rescue Department received 82 calls of service in the month of March. They responded to calls of service ranging from numerous fires to a long night helping neighboring departments after a tornado. The department had 34 EMS calls, 18 MVC calls, one entrapment call, 6 brush fire calls, 9 residential fire calls, one business fire call, one commercial vehicle fire call, one passenger vehicle fire call, one business fire alarm call, one residential fire alarm call, one smoke investigation call, six weather-related calls and two other calls. The Town of Falkville will observe the National Day of Prayer May 4 at the Falkville Town Hall from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to participate.
