HACC slates annual meeting for April 28

The Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual meeting and awards banquet April 28 at 5:30 p.m. the Tabernacle Farm.  

Nominations are open now through April 4 for various community awards that will be presented at the gala. The following awards will be presented at the event:  

E.R. Roberts Business Award  

According to the HACC, Hartselle is a better place to live thanks to E.R. Roberts, and there are still people like Roberts in the business community. Traits exhibited by this recipient are honesty, hard work, strong civic support, fair treatment and active participation in community, church and the Chamber of Commerce.  

 Dr. Thomas M Guyton Humanitarian Award  

The HACC said the recipient of this award is committed to improving the lives of others through generously giving her time and talents. She strives to enhance the community and the organizations she is involved in with a positive approach and unwavering support.  

 John J. Sparkman Citizenship Award  

The recipient of this award has a tireless commitment and dedication to the United States, Alabama and Morgan County, according to the Chamber. He has proven himself to be outstanding among his peers in the areas of personal competence, civic contribution and personal qualities.  

 Tommy Ed Roberts Civic Award  

The recipient of this award, according to the HACC, has shown and continues to show great pride in the community. They are committed to the growth and betterment of all citizens of the community. This is shown by their spirit of giving of their time, efforts and gifts for the benefit of the community and its citizens.  

English-Walker Ambassador of the Year Award  

This award is named after Bettye English and Faye Walker, two longtime chamber ambassadors and community volunteers who tirelessly served the Hartselle community for many years. The Ambassador of the Year Award is given to the Ambassador voted by his or her peers to be the best of the best. 

Sponsored by Hartselle Family Dentistry, the annual awards gala will begin at 5:30 p.m. and tickets are on sale now.   

Chamber members can purchase tickets for $65, while non-member tickets cost $80. Table sponsors that include seating for eight cost $650.
