Standouts of the week

Basketball

Leslie Hames, Pricevile: Hames led the Bulldogs with 15 points in the 56-36 Class 4A state semifinal win over UMS-Wright. She added 10 points in the championship game loss to Prattville Christian. She was named to the 4A All-Tournament team.

Gracin Prater, Priceville: Prater had 12 points and seven steals in the win over UMS-Wright. She added 14 points and seven rebounds in the championship game loss to Prattville Christian. She was named to the 4A All-Tournament team.

Baseball

Caden Burnett, Falkville: Burnett had three hits, including a home run, seven RBIs and four runs scored in a 24-0 win over Tanner in game one and added a home run and a double and four runs scored in a 21-1 victory in game two.

Peyton Davis, Falkville: Davis pitched a no-hitter in a 24-0 win over Tanner, striking out 11 over four innings of work.

Dylan Thomas, Brewer: Thomas had two hits and four RBI in a 12-2 win over Danville. He later pitched a complete-game shutout in an 11-0 win over Vinemont, allowing three hits over six innings while striking out eight. He also had two hits and four RBI in the Vinemont win.

Softball

Katee King, Priceville: King had three hits, including a double and three RBI, in a 9-7 win over Arab.

Blayne Godfrey, Hartselle: Pitched a complete game, striking out 11, in a 6-1 win over Huntsville.

McKinley McCaghren, Danville: McCaghren had three hits and five RBI in an 8-7 loss to West Point.

Soccer

Layla Sherrill, Danville: Sherrill scored five goals in a 10-0 win over Geraldine.

Luke Minnon, Hartselle: Minnon netted a hat trick in the Tigers’ 4-3 win over Brewer.

Owen Bennich, Hartselle: scored the game-winning goal in the Tigers’ 1-0 win over Athens and added a goal and an assist on the game-winner in a 4-3 win over Brewer.
