Author: Taylor Jenkins Reid

In the 1970’s, the rock band Daisy Jones and the Six rose to international fame. But, the band fell apart as quickly as they rose. Years after their breakup, Daisy is ready to sit down and tell the tale of the band getting together and breaking up. The tale starts with teenage Daisy trying to make it big on the music scene. She quickly gets involved in drugs and romantic flings. After years of this, she finally gets noticed by a producer who pairs her with the already established rock band the Six. Thus, Daisy Jones and the Six is born. However, the members become romantically involved with one another and those feelings cause the band to fall apart. Love can make or break a band.

This book by Taylor Jenkins Reid is a great fictional tale of the rock and role music scene of the 1970’s. Available soon on Amazon Prime, the book has been turned into a television show. The book can be found in the Library and on the Libby app.

Title: “Every Summer After”
By: Carley Fortune

At the age of thirteen, Percy spent every summer at the lake. There, she met her most favorite person in the world. To Percy, the lake was a magical place with Sam by her side. They spent endless hours, swimming, reading, watching horror movies and laughing all while inhaling Sam’s mom’s famous perogies. As the years go on, Percy and Sam’s friendship grows into something more. Until the one year when Percy messes it all up. Percy disappears and it takes more than ten years for her to return. When Percy finally makes it back, she doesn’t know how Sam will react.

The ebb and flow of these characters are unreal. Following these characters grow as individuals and together through their bonds is magical. From friends to family, as you read this incredible book, you’ll learn if love and forgiveness can stand the test of time. Available at the library and on Libby, Every Summer After is a must read.
