Danville High School hosting food drive

Danville High School is hosting a Barrels of Love food drive Feb. 14-March 2. The first period class that collects the most non-perishable food items will receive Krispy Kreme donuts. Some of the items being collected include peanut butter, canned meats and vegetables, soups, ramen noodles, grits, pasta, pop top food items, drink boxes and canned fruit. No glass containers please. The food drive will support the CCC, Salvation Army and the backpack programs for the school systems. For more information please contact Donna Sawyer at 256-642-9674. The celebration collection day will be March 3 at Ingall’s Harbor Pavilion from 8 a.m. until noon. All support will be greatly appreciated.

Town of Falkville Activities

Falkville Town Hall will host special guest Rep. Scott Stadhagen March 2 from 8-9 a.m. This will be a meet and greet and a chance to ask questions.

The Falkville High School beauty pageant as been rescheduled due to possible weather conditions. The pageant will now be held Feb. 28 at 6 p.m.

The members of First Baptist Church of Falkville expresses their appreciation to everyone who helped support the Souper Bowl fundraiser. More than $1,000 dollars was raised for the youth.

The members of First Baptist Church of Falkville, located at 306 East Main St. will hold a Gospel Conversations Training. The program will be held March 11 from 9-3 p.m. The gospel program will be hosted by Sam Neugent. The Gospel Conversations Training is an evangelism training event, which is taking place in cities across North America. Through a combination of group discussion and community outreach, you will also discover simple and effective ways to tell a family member, friend or neighbor about the love of Jesus.
