Title: “Terms and Conditions”
By Lauren Asher

In the second book of the Dreamland Billionaires series, Declan Kane is the oldest of three brothers and the one destined to be the next CEO of the Kane Company. However, he has to meet the secret requirement established in his inheritance letter from his recently deceased grandfather. What are those requirements? Get married and have a child within a very short timeframe. This notoriously single man has to find a way to make this happen. In walks his longtime assistant Iris – and she is the solution. They both agree faking a marriage and having a child together is what is best for the company. As Iris says, she couldn’t ask for a better emotionless arrangement in which to raise a child. Although, these two only need one push to finally give in and admit their long-term pining for each other. This book is a great modern romance. The tropes for this book are office romance and mutual pining. You can find this book at the library.

Title: “The Roommate Situation”
By Katie Bailey

Jess had a good life in New York City until everything fell apart. Now, Jess has to resort to moving in with her brother in Atlanta. Little does she know her brother’s best friend has also moved in temporarily while he renovates his new house. Conor, a professional house flipper is surprised by Jess when she suddenly appears on her brother’s door step. They quickly realize that sharing a common space and being just friends is going to be hard. As they share witty banter and many meals together, their bantering soon evolves into flirting and more.

Many love a close proximity/sibling’s best friend trope, but what makes “The Roommate Situation” even more fun to read is the duo point of view. Anyone looking for a fun, light rom-com read with mild language and no explicit scenes will enjoy this book. It’s waiting for you at the library.
