Girls basketball: Priceville splits area games with East Lawrence, Good Hope

The Priceville Lady Bulldogs split area games with East Lawrence and Good Hope to close out their regular season area play. Priceville finished second to Good Hope in their area.

Danville and Falkville also picked up area wins last week.

Tuesday

Priceville 74, East Lawrence 36

The Lady Bulldogs improved to 12-5 overall and 4-1 in area play with a 74-36 win over East Lawrence.

Lauren Hames finished with 23 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs, while sister Leslie Hames added 18.

“I was pleased with how we played. We played hard and got better tonight. We didn’t go through the motions,” said Priceville head coach Terrie Nelson.

Hannah Hill finished with 12 points to lead East Lawrence.

Decatur Heritage 60, Falkville 48

Falkville dropped to 1-3 in area play with a 60-48 loss to Decatur Heritage. The Lady Eagles led 36-20 at halftime.

Ellie Cate Hill finished with 21 points and eight rebounds to lead Falkville.

Katelyn Cooper finished with 22 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Decatur Heritage. Genie McGhee added 16 points, 12 rebounds and four assists, while Alex Jackson had nine points and five assists.

Russellville 55, Brewer 31

Brewer dropped to 1-4 in area play with a 55-31 loss at Russellville. The Lady Patriots trailed 39-13 at halftime.

Jacey Atkins finished with nine points and 10 rebounds to lead Brewer (4-12), Cierra Marquez added six points.

Ella Copeland scored 13 points to lead Russellville. Jacey Moore added 11, while Avery Watts had 10.

Thursday

Falkville 64, West End 30

The Lady Blue Devils improved to 2-3 in area play with a 64-30 win over West End. Falkville led 34-8 at halftime.

Ellie Cate Hill finished with 23 points to lead Falkville. Ella Wallace added 11 points, while Abbey Grace Tomlin and Hanna Roden scored eight points each.

Friday

Good Hope 60, Priceville 48

Priceville dropped to 12-6 overall and 4-2 in area play after their 60-48 loss to top-ranked Good Hope. The Lady Bulldogs triled 19-10 after the first quarter and 35-23 at halftime.

Leslie Hames finished with 20 points to lead Priceville. Ashlyn Johnson added 10 points. Gracin Prater grabbed 12 rebounds and Zoey Benson had nine boards.

Ivey Maddox finished with 26 points for Good Hope. Heather Tetro added 11 and sister Bailey had 10.

West Point 67, Brewer 30

Brewer fell to 4-15 over and 1-4 in area play with a 67-30 loss to West Point. The Lady Patriots trailed 31-17 at halftime.

Chloe Romine and Lilly Yancey each had six points to lead Brewer. Yancey had six rebounds and Romine pulled five.

Liberty Shadix finished with 19 points to lead West Point. Camryn Faulkner added 11 and Jaelyn Faulkner had 10.

Danville 50, Colbert Heights 20

The Lady Hawks improved to 4-2 in area play with a 50-20 win over Colbert Heights. Olivia Vest finished with 11 points to lead Danville. Elisabeth Hand added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Lindsay Lane 62, Falkville 59

The Lady Blue Devils were outscored 17-7 in the fourth quarter of their 62-59 loss to Lindsay Lane. Falkville led 34-30 at halftime and 52-45 after three quarters.

Ellie Cate Hill finished with a season-high 36 points to lead Falkville. She also pulled down eight rebounds. Ella Wallace added 13 points and seven rebounds.

Lindsey Murr finished with 34 points to lead Lindsay Lane.
