Town of Falkville appreciates Fire and Rescue Department

The Town of Falkville expresses their appreciation to their Fire and Rescue Volunteer Department for protecting the community and surrounding areas . During the month of August the Falkville Department responded to 78 calls for service. They had 39 EMS calls, 10 fire calls, 21 MVC calls, two hazmat calls and three weather related calls.  

They also maintained a 100 percent response of service. Some of their calls included responding to incidents assisting Ebenezer, Eva, Hartselle, Massey, Oden Ridge and Somerville departments. They also provided standby for the Falkville High School football games.  The department also trained with the Alabama Forestry Commission (Morgan County) personnel on wildfire operations and learned how both agencies can better assist each other.  

Community announcements  

The Town of Falkville will be hosting their annual Fall Festival Oct. 8 with activities starting at 7 a.m.  One of the special activities that will be featured at the Fall Festival will be a car show from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will be three awards in each class: street rods, late model and classic cars. There will also be a Best of Show Mayors Choice Award. There is no registration fee.  

The Danville Neel Elementary School Fall Festival will be held Oct. 13 from 5-7 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend for a fun filled family event.  

The Cross of North Alabama groundbreaking will be held Oct. 11 at 9 a.m. West of Libby’s Restaurant near Priceville Everyone is invited to attend this event.
