Priceville runs over Madison County in 35-0 win

Priceville continued their hot start as they ran past Madison County 35-0 at Bulldog Stadium to open Class 4A, Region 8.

Mason Cartee opened the scoring for the Bulldogs with a one-yard run to give Priceville a 7-0.

A Sage Smothers blocked punt led to the Bulldog’s next score as Blitz Clemons ran 38 yards for his first touchdown and a Priceville 13-0 lead.

Clemons added his second touchdown right before halftime with a 73-yard run. Following the 2-pt conversion, the Bulldogs went into the locker room with a 21-0 lead.

After a scoreless third quarter, the Bulldogs added two touchdowns in less than three minutes in the fourth quarter. Clemons scored on a 25-yard run to extend the lead to 28-0. Following a Madison County fumble on the kickoff, Jaylen Mosely added a 17-yard run to extend the Priceville lead to 35-0.

Clemons led the Priceville rushing attack with 153 yards and three touchdowns on seven carries. Cartee added 141 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. Moseley had 19 yards rushing and a touchdown on eight carries.

The Bulldogs finished with 330 yards rushing. Their defense limited Madison County to 163 yards, 32 yards rushing and 131 yards passing.

Priceville (3-0, 1-0) will host D.A.R. (0-3, 01) in region play on Friday night.
