Danville homecoming parade slated for Sept. 29  

The Danville High School homecoming parade, hosted by Holly Bailey Reeves, will be held Sept. 29 at 6 p.m. The parade will will take place on Highway 36 in Danville and will end at Danville Baptist Church. The starting point has yet to be decided. The evening will finish up with a bonfire. Everyone is welcome and if those who would like to participate in the parade can contact Holly Reeves at 256-345-9887. There will be no entry fee charged for this event. There will also be food trucks at Danville Baptist Church following the parade.  

Members of Danville Baptist Church will be hosting their block party Sept. 18 from 4-6 p.m. at the church, located at 5044 Hwy 36, in Danville. They will have games, a photo booth, cake walk and more. This is a free community event hosted by Allen Tolbert Bluegrass and Danville Baptist Church. The Allen Tolbert Unit will be performing at the block party and attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs.  

JBD Annual Charity Auction  

The annual JBD charity auction will be held Oct. 1 at Happys Auction. At 9 a.m. an outside storage unit auction will be held and at 10 a.m. an inside JBD Foundation Auction will be held. There will also be free giveaways during the auction. Ed Dugger organizes this charity event each year to help children by buying them medical items that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to  have. All of the donations made to this event are tax deductible. Donations to the charity auction can be made by contacting Ed Dugger at 256-221-8677.
