Funeral service for Mrs. Polly James, 88 of Hartselle, was held Monday, August
1, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Neel United Methodist Church with Pastor Steven Barber
and Bro. Harold Thompson officiating. The burial was in the Johnson Chapel
Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. She was born January 22, 1934 in Morgan County to Virgil Wallace and Effie Puckett Wallace. Polly passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Lee James, three brothers Leon Wallace, Buddy Wallace and Donald Wallace. One grandchild, Maleigh
James. Polly was a homemaker and a former bus driver for Morgan County Schools.
She was a Sunday school teacher and faithful member of Neel United Methodist
Church. Survivors include son, Ken James (Julia); daughter, Jill Wallace (Truman); two grandsons,
Ethan James (Alex) and Garrett James (Ashley); four granddaughters, Kirby Wallace (Patrick Woods), Kaitlin Wallace, Lacey Host (Ryan), and Mikayla Sogers (Jordan); ten great-grandchildren, Holden, Charlie, Eloise and Henry James, Grayson, Ezra, Rylan and Madeline James, Maleigh, Isaiah, Selah and Julia Host; five sisters, Edith Long, Elsie Pike, Mary (Johnny) McCay, Jonnie Russell, Charlcie Montgomery (Paul.) Special thanks to Hospice of the Valley, and her caregivers, Sherri Smith, Carol Brown, Amy and Molly Turner, Kaitlin Wallace and Patricia Ramey. Funeral service for Hubert Ronald Cole, 79, was Monday, August 1, 2022
at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Gunter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Turney Family Cemetery. Visitation was Monday, August 1, 2022 from 9-11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home. Mr. Cole died Friday, July 29, 2022 at Decatur-Morgan Hospital.  He was born Friday, January 15, 1943 in Lauderdale County, to Hubert Washington Cole and Nora Ellen Cobb Cole. He was a control room operator for Solutia from which he retired after 32 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Noah
Cole and brother-in-law, Scott Johnson. Survivors include wife, Phyllis Cole; sons, Dale Cole, Billy Cole and Jason (Kristy) Odom; daughter, Tara (Floyd) Ream; sisters, Sandra Dover, Debra Thornton, and Diane Johnson; grandchildren, Naomi Cole, Travi Cole, Zachary Cole, Legena Nelson, Mark Abner and Baylee Odom; great grandchildren, Liam and Nolan Cole. Pallbearers were nephews. 

 

Preston Wayne Puckett

A memorial service and interment for Preston Wayne Puckett, 61, was held
Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with Bro. Sam
Gugliotta officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Mr. Puckett passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022 at NHC Healthcare. He was born May 13, 1961 in Morgan County to Robert Bracken Puckett, Jr. And Mrs. Montye (Walker) Puckett. Preston was preceded in death by his father, Robert Bracken Puckett, Jr. A brother, Robert Bracken Puckett, III, and a sister, Elizabeth Puckett
Elmore. Survivors include mother, Mrs. Montye (Walker) Puckett; brother, Charles Noojin Puckett; sisters, Dorothy Elizabeth Puckett and Mary Leah Huhn; cousins, Rosemary Walker Alverez and Charles Noojin Walker, III.  

Cindy Topash

Funeral service for Cindy Topash, 65, will be Saturday, August 13, 2022 at
11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ralph Henderson officiating
and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Oden Ridge Cemetery. Mrs. Topash died on Saturday, July 30, 2022.  She was born October 20, 1956 in Pike County, Kentucky, to Estill Akers and Connie Voncile Montgomery Akers.  She was a hydromatic machine operator for General Motors prior to her retirement. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Topash, Sr., her parents, brothers, Estil Akers, Sam Akers and Kenny Akers. Survivors include sons, Eric Topash and Joseph Topash; daughter, Melanie Topash; brothers, Eddie Akers and Leroy Akers; sister, Anita Suszylo;
grandchildren, Josh Topash, Haley Ross, Jacob Farley, Julian Topash and Brennen Calhoun. Pallbearers were Eric Topash, Bron Suszylo, Chris Ross, Chris Suszylo and Josh Topash. 

 

Gale K. Hubbard

Funeral service for Gale K. Hubbard, 67, was held Friday, August 5, 2022 at
11 a.m. at Antioch Church of Christ in Spearsville, La. With Farrar’s Funeral Home assisting the family. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery. A visitation was at the church for one hour prior to the service. A visitation was held Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 6-8p.m. at Peck Funeral Home for her Alabama friends and family, with Peck Funeral Home assisting the family. Mrs. Hubbard died Monday, August 1, 2022 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.  She was born December 21, 1954, in Caddo Parrish, in Louisiana, to Willie Emery Allen Dunn and Betty Alice Dalton Dunn. She was a cafeteria worker and CNP for Decatur City Schools, prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Beltline Church of Christ in Decatur. Preceding her in death were her parents, a son, Michael Hubbard and a brother, Mark Dunn. Survivors include husband, Benjamin Calvin Hubbard; daughter, Kim Sparks (Shannon); sons, Keith Brownfield and Matt Paddie (Angie); brothers, David Dunn (Linda), Danny Dunn (Melissa), and Dee Dunn (Theresa); sister, Laine Hollis (Mike); ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
 

Virginia M. (Rasinowich) Hartselle 

Rockledge, Fla.  

Our beautiful mother, Virginia M. (Rasinowich) Hartselle, 91, of Rockledge, Florida, passed away August 2, 2022. She was born April 22, 1931 in Calumet, Michigan to Joseph and Marion (Renaldi) Rasinowich.  She was united in marriage to Ted Hartselle, of Hartselle, Ala., on February 7, 1953, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Calumet, Michigan, spending 53 loving years together until our father’s death on December 24, 2006. Mom enjoyed traveling with Dad as they visited all over North America, Europe and Asia.  Family was the most important part of their lives as she and Dad loved to visit and travel with family members and relatives through the years.    

She is survived by her loving children, Ted J. (Mona) Hartselle of Rockledge Fla., Michael (Josie) Hartselle of Jacksonville Fla., Laurie (John) Chapman of Viera Fla., Becky (Bob) Hartselle of Rockledge Fla., Patrick (Lisa) Hartselle and his former spouse, Lesley Hartselle, of Rockledge Fla., Todd (Dana) Hartselle of Apopka Fla., her sisters-in-law, Shirley Rasinowich, Martha Hartselle and Virginia Hatfield and brother-in-law Wallace Fowler. Mema dearly loved her 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marion (Renaldi) Rasinowich, husband Theodore (Ted), son Tim Hartselle, and brothers Ernest Rasinowich and Joseph Rasinowich. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Virginia’s honor to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1136 Seminole Drive, Rockledge Fla., 32955  

David F. Jacobs

Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Jacobs died on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born Tuesday, April 18, 1950, in Limestone County to Jessie Jacobs and Eldora Rogers Jacobs. He was a production worker for Chore-time, prior to his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Angie
Jacobs, a stepdaughter, Christy Mitchell and three brothers, James Earl Jacobs, George Thomas Jacobs and Charles Edward Jacobs. Survivors include sisters, Barbara Jacobs, Annette Bartholomew, Shirley Haynes, and Sylvia Kay Angle; brothers, Danny Jacobs and Max Jacobs; grandchildren, Derrick Cross and Victoria Spangler; great grandchild, Kingston Cross. Pallbearers were friends and nephews. 

Sally Mae Maze

Funeral service for Sally Mae Maze, 88, was held Saturday, August 6, 2022 at
1 p.m. at East Highland Baptist Church with Bro. Wally Blackmon officiating
and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Mrs. Maze died Thursday, August 4, 2022 at her residence. She was born April 20, 1934 in Morgan County, to Eligie Bracken and Irene Wiems Bracken. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Sally was a longtime member of East Highland Baptist Church and was employed by General Electric on the assembly line, prior to her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Coleman Maze and her
parents. Survivors include daughter, Cindy Maze Grove (David); sister, Mattie Lou; grandchildren, Wesley Grove, Nathan Grove, Hayden Grove Furmanek (Jason) and Hayley Grove; and a host of other family members. Pallbearers were family and friends. 

Naomi Faith Williams
Somerville
A graveside funeral service and interment for Naomi Faith Williams, stillborn infant, was held Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 2 p.m. at New Center Cemetery with Lena Andrews speaking and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in New Center Cemetery. Miss Williams died on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born Wednesday, August 3, 2022, in Morgan County to Torrea Kordell Williams and Brenda Michelle Morgan. She was a sweet angel taken too soon and now sits in heaven. Survivors include parents, Torrea Kordell Williams and Brenda Michelle Morgan, brothers, Hayden Morgan and Malik Brown; grandparents, Gary and Stella Brannon and Mike and Lena Andrews; great grandparents, Frank Morgan and Shirley Morganand Willie Mae Harris. Pallbearer was Torrea Williams. 

Donna Kay Robinson Chandler

Funeral service for Donna Kay Robinson Chandler, 70, was held Monday, August 8, 2022 at 3 p.m. at West Hartselle Baptist Church with Bro. Greg Lee officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery. Mrs. Chandler died Thursday, August 4, 2022 at UAB Hospital. She was born October 23, 1951 in Morgan County to Clyde Robinson and Myrtle Magalene Wisener Chandler. She was employed in art merchandising for Larry Chandler Art prior to her retirement. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and loved her family. She was of the Baptist faith, loved her church and her church family. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, J. B. Sterling; husband, Larry Chandler; son, James Ashley Chandler and daughter, Lara Whitehead. Survivors include sons, Robert “Arby” Chandler and Jeff Chandler (Ashley Megan); sisters, Myra Jones, Glenda Hood, Patsy Givens, Betty Sterling, Myra Joyce Blackman and Suzette Smith; grandchildren, Carson Whitehead and Dallas Whitehead and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were family and friends. 

 

Bruce Grady Griffin

Funeral service for Bruce Grady Griffin, 74, of Falkville was held Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Peck funeral home with Bro. Chris Borden officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Mr. Griffin died on August 5, 2022 at Birmingham VA Medical Center. He was born on September 12, 1947 to Alvin and Wonda Griffin in Hartselle, Ala. Bruce Griffin served proudly in the army during the Vietnam War. He loved helping the homeless through different ministries. Bruce loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and classic cars. Mr. Griffin was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Amanda Smith, great-granddaughter, Alora Eaton and brother, Roy Griffin. Survivors include three brothers, Robby Sullivan, Jonathan Griffin, and James McNutt; four daughters, Nikki Walker, Jenny Griffin, Jenifer Patterson, and Kimberly Menjivar; one brother, Roger Griffin; five sisters, Eula Goss, Jean Griffin, Edna Suite, Carolyn Fergus, and Lola Lorance. 

 

Bobby Delbert McCutcheon
Hartselle
Funeral service for Bobby Delbert McCutcheon, 70, was held Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 11a.m. at Forrest Chapel UMC with Bro. Larry Long officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Forrest Chapel Cemetery. Mr. McCutcheon died Sunday, August 7, 2022 at his residence. He was born September 29, 1951, in Harlan, Ky., to Otis J. and Vina Catherine Saylor McCutcheon. He was a Baptist in his faith, was saved and told everybody about God. He was happily married for 33 years to the love of his life, was a very loving husband and loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. He loved his truck driving job and was also a crane operator working for Solley and Barnhart Crane Company prior to his retirement. Preceding him in death were his parents who raised him, Murray and Gurley Clements, a brother, Wayne McCutcheon, a sister, Edna and a daughter, Bobbie Jo. Survivors include wife of 33 years, Connie Osborne McCutcheon; sons, Chad McCutcheon (Tamatha), Michael Vaughn (Natashia), and Kevin Vaughn; daughter, Kristina Blackburn; four brothers, Lonnie McCutcheon, William McCutcheon, George Cody (Lisa) and Rick Cody; two sisters, Connie Bailey (Roger) and Regina Hanson; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family. Pallbearers were Chad McCutcheon, Michael Vaughn, Kevin Vaughn, Jeremy Vaughn, Larry Long, Jr. and Curt Long.
