Funeral service for Ruth Lynn (Weaver) Falls, 84 of Eva was held Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Union Church of Christ with Bro. Tom Larkin and Bro. Dale Hubbert officiating with burial in the Rock Creek Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. The visitation was Thursday from 1-3 p.m. at the church. Mrs. Falls was born January 19, 1938 in Morgan County, Ala. to Everett Lyndon Breeding and Edna Emelene Lynn Breeding. She was a member of Union Church of Christ. Preceded in death by parents, two husbands, Howard Lafayette Weaver and William Bill Falls; 3 brothers, Thomas Eugene Breeding, James Freeman Breeding and Cois Lyle Breeding; sister, Georgie Avorie Murphy; great-granddaughter, Autumn Louise Yancey; and stepson, Randy Falls. She retired from the Morgan County School system as a bus driver after 18 years. Survivors include son, Ricky Weaver; 2 daughters, Rhonda Yancey (Paul) and Lydia Hudson (Roy); nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and nine great great-grandchildren

Pallbearers were grandsons and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Indian Creek Youth Camp, 7855 Pleasant Field Road Oakman, AL 35579.

Mary M. Tidwell

Hartselle

A visitation for Ms. Tidwell was held Tuesday, July 5 from 6-8 p.m. Her funeral service was Wednesday, July 6 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Peck Funeral Home. Burial was held at Center Springs Cemetery United Methodist Church Cemetery. Ms. Mary M. Tidwell passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Summerford Nursing Home at the age of 71. She was born to Homer Garland and Versie Sparks Tidwell on April 13, 1951 in Morgan County. Ms. Tidwell loved to color and watch TV. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include daughter, Willabell Hill; sister; Gloria Callahan and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were family and friends and Brother Bennett did the officiating.

Dennis “Toby” Eugene Tyler

Hartselle

A visitation for Mr. Dennis “Toby” Eugene Tyler 76, of Hartselle was held Monday, July 11 from 9-10:30 a.m. with a graveside service following at 11 a.m. with military honors at Moss Chapel Cemetery. Toby passed away Friday, July 1, 2022 at his residence. He was born on April 13, 1946 to Price Wesley and Willodean White Tyler in Morgan County, Ala. SMSGT Dennis E. Tyler, USAF retired from the U.S. Air Force, was a Vietnam veteran and enjoyed woodworking. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James M. Tyler. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Candy Stephenson Tyler of Hartselle; daughter, Kimberly Tyler McClung (Keith) of Hartselle; grandchildren, Chelsea Nicole McClung Moore (Derrick), Tyler Chance McClung, Brandon Chase McClung, and Christopher Keith McClung; great granddaughter, Oakley Sky Moore.

Richard “Dick” Dwayne Milton

Valhermoso Springs

Visitation for Richard “Dick” Dwayne Milton was held Tuesday, July 5 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home. A graveside service was held at 11:30 a.m. at Valhermoso Springs Cemetery in Valhermoso Springs, Ala. officiated by Angela McMinemon. Richard (Dick) Dwayne Milton, 88, departed this life on June 30, 2022 to join his wife, Reba Henry; his two sons, Richard D. Milton II and Stephen K. Milton; his sister Elaine Milton McCleskey and his parents Richard Marvin and Hazel Akin Milton. Dick is survived by his four grandchildren, Hannah Milton Holland, Patrick Milton, Zachary Watts and Kari Watts; his stepson, Daren Henry and stepdaughter, Johnna Henry Watts; three great grandchildren, Kate, Samuel and Jack Holland; two nieces, Catherine Gassman and Claire Dubit; a great nephew Michael Gassman and too many friends to count.
Dick was born November 29, 1933, the youngest of two children of Richard and Hazel Milton of Midlothian, Texas. It took many miracles for him to reach the age of 88 due to his inclination to live life on the edge starting at a very early age. If a cat has nine lives, Dick Milton had more. After getting his electrical engineering degree from the University of Texas, he worked at various jobs before his friend and former coworker helped him get a job in 1961 at Redstone Arsenal. Dick had an amazing career for more than 30 years in the laser sciences and applications at the Army Missile Command. He was instrumental in the application of lasers in the Army which led to several patents including the Hellfire Missile. Besides being an engineer, Dick was also a pilot, a physicist, a mechanic and a “ladies’ man.” He was one of few who could “pinch the waitress and get better service.” His life motto was “Don’t ask for permission, ask for forgiveness.” His friends and family pray his heaven is filled with his favorite things: his loved ones who have gone before him: “dead cow”, lasers, Cessna planes, Dixie Land Jazz, and parties. Pallbearers were Patrick Milton, Zachary Watts, Michael Gassman, John Jordan, Jonathan Babin and Christopher Clinkenbeard.

Doris Marie Smith

Hartselle

A funeral service for Doris Marie Smith, 86, was held Sunday, July 3, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Donald Baugh officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was held in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Smith died on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Shepard’s Cove Hospice in Albertville. She was born August 12, 1935, in Belle Mina, Ala. to David Franklin Montgomery and Gladys Josephine Maples. She was a nurse for St. Vincent’s Hospital, prior to her retirement and was a wonderful, caring mother, wife, sister and daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Noel “Sonny” Smith, a daughter, Kristy Smith Ochoa and her parents.

Survivors include daughter, Cynthia Denise Maples; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great grandchild. Pallbearers were Kevin Horton, Brandon Maples, Marcus Williamson, Dale Montgomery, Scott McCurley and Zach Tucker. Honorary pallbearers were Jose Ochoa and Gary Montgomery.

James “Bentley” Wimbs

Funeral service for James “Bentley” Wimbs, 84, was held Thursday, July 7 at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Phil Lawrence officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Shiloh Baptist Cemetery.
Mr. Wimbs died on Monday, July 4, 2022 at his residence. He was born September 19, 1937, in Lawrence County to John Russell Wimbs and Julie Arlela Holcomb Wimbs. Mr. Wimbs was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ferrell Wimbs and Travis Wimbs; four sisters, Margaret Wimbs Bell, Velman Wimbs Creel, Norine Wimbs and Luda Taylor. Mr. Wimbs was lovingly called “Pa” by all the children that loved to stay at and play at their house. Kolin and Kole were the light of his life. Hunter, Braden, Carson, Harley and Kooper were what made him smile. He loved to stay busy working on his place and visiting with anyone who had time to talk. He retired from working in assembly at the John Blue Company. Survivors include wife, Mary Wimbs; daughter, Amber Owen (Mike); brother, Neville Wimbs;
two sisters, Thelma Webb and Vivian Lynn (Albert). Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Ronald F. Wilson

Falkville

Funeral Service for Ronald F. Wilson, 78 of Falkville was held Thursday, July 7 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Milan Dekich officiating with burial in the Cook Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. Mr. Wilson was born April 8, 1944 in Oceanside, Calif. to Raymond Wilson and Nora Cross Wilson. He passed away Monday, July 4, 2022 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Ronda Clark. Ronald was a member of the Church of Christ. He retired from the Los Angeles Police Department in 1989 where he served as a police officer.

Survivors include wife, Jean Wilson; daughter, Sheryl Carnes (Keith); brother, Eldon Wilson; sister, Glenda Goff; siix grandchildren, Stacey Fields, Chrissy Clemons, Brandon Clark, Tyler Haley, Josh Rezek, and Ryan Rezek; 6 great grandchildren, Adrian Clemons, Adalyn Fields, Brayden Clark, Ryder Rezek, Andsley Clemons, and Nevaeh Rezek. Pallbearers were Brandon Clark, Tyler Haley, Jeremy Fields, Justin Clemons and Keith Carnes.

Warren “Red” Winsett, Sr.

Funeral service for Warren “Red” Winsett, Sr., 72, was held Monday, July 11
at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Gunter
officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Lebanon
Baptist Cemetery. Mr. Winsett passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at his residence. He was
born August 30, 1949, in Morgan County to Jhon Winsett and Ruby Lawrence
Winsett. He was employed as a Siding Applicator, prior to his retirement.
He loved to hunt and fish and just loved being outdoors. He was
preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include wife, Katherine Winsett; sons, Dale Winsett, Steve Winsett, and Bryan Winsett; stepson, Joey Bryant; seven grandchildren and
five great grandchildren.

Harry Cecil Vice
Hartselle
Funeral service for Harry Cecil Vice, 93, was held Saturday, July 9 at
1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron Wilson officiating and Peck
Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery. Mr. Vice died on July 6, 2022 at his home. He was born March 1, 1929, in
Walker County, to Charles Lee Vice and Flossie Perkins Vice.
Mr. Vice was a home builder and developer for more than 40 years in
Hartselle and surrounding areas. He was a charter member of Mt. View
Baptist Church in rural Morgan County and served there until 1967. He was a
member of First Baptist Church Hartselle for 55 years where he served as a
deacon and on several committees. Survivors include wife of 62 years, Mary Pridmore Vice; son, Harry Vice, Jr. and wife, Pam daughter, Ellen Vice Williams and husband, Allen’ grandchildren, Graham Vice, Nathan Vice, James Vice (Amanda), Elizabeth Vickers (Richard), and Erica Hood (Adam); great grandchildren, Emmalyn, Lily, Cali, Ava, Colten, and Trenton; brother, Wilson Vice;
sister, Jean Lamon (Eual). He was preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings.
Pallbearers were Graham Vice, Nathan Vice, James Vice, Charles Pridmore,
Meredith McClung, David Harrison and Joe Sanders The family would like to express gratitude to Joyce Dodson for her loving care for our family and to Sarah Mclemore and Vicki Greene of Amedisys Hospice. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Cecil’s

Mary Helen Glasscock Sims

A graveside funeral service and interment for Mary Helen Glasscock Sims, 73,
was held Saturday, July 16 at 10 a.m. at Hartselle City Cemetery with
Bro. Chris Martin and Bro. Phil Waldrop officiating and Peck Funeral Home
directing. No public visitation was scheduled.
Ms. Sims died on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at her residence. She was born
October 8, 1948, in Morgan County, to Victor Hugo Glasscock and Mildred
Helen Howell Glasscock. She retired from a career as a dental hygienist working for Dr. Kirby and Dr. Sims. She loved to crochet items for the homeless and for Save-a-life. As
a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, she played the piano for a number
of years. Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother, Buddy L.
Glasscock. Survivors include son, Tommy B. Sims (Tina); sister-in-law, Jannice Glasscock;
niece, Sharon Glasscock Thompson’ great nephew, Owen Robert Thompson.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Pleasant Hill
Baptist Church or to Affinity Hospice.

Mary Elizabeth Fortenberry
Falkville
Miss Mary Elizabeth Fortenberry, 73, passed away at Falkville Nursing
and Rehab July 9. A visitation was held on Monday,
July 11, 2022 from 1-2:30 p.m. A graveside service was held at 3
p.m. at Lebanon Baptist Church cemetery. Bro. Edward Mayer did the
officiating. Miss Fortenberry was born June 2, 1949 to Burl and Sarah Wright
Fortenberry in Morgan County. She loved to put puzzles together, play
games and arts and crafts. she dearly loved listening to gospel music.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James Fortenberry and a
sister Glenda Boyer. She is survived by her sister, Virginia L. Massey and other extended family.
Pallbearers will be Dewayne Fortenberry, Troy Fortenberry, Roy Fortenberry
Mike Steele, Kevin Jones and Jeff Massey.

Robert C. “Granddaddy” Tucker
Hartselle
Our Hero pulled up his anchor on Sunday, July 10 at his residence,
surrounded by his family. He was born Sunday, July 5, 1931, in Morgan
County to John Welsey Tucker and Jettie Mae Lindley Tucker.
He was employed by Peek Olds-Cadillac, as an auto-body repairman, prior to
his retirement. Mr. Tucker was a proud Navy Veteran, serving in the Korean
War and serving his country and was a long-time member of the Cedar Creek
Freewill Baptist Church. He was a great husband, daddy, and granddaddy, a
great storyteller and his family loved to hear those stories. He was a joke
teller and prankster and always had a trick up his sleeve. If you ever met
him you walked away with a piece of peppermint. He was loving to all and you
never left his and Mama Lou’s home hungry and he always asked if he had
anything you needed or could he do anything for you or to help you?
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Louise “Mama Lou” Ledlow Tucker,
his parents and sister, Mary Ann Key Ledlow.

Survivors include sons, Keith Tucker (Jennifer) and Kenneth Tucker (Sherry);
daughters Karen Nelson (Tim) and Kathy Tucker (Bryan Moses); nine grandchildren;
twenty-one great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; sisters,

Funeral service for Robert C. “Granddaddy” Tucker, 91, will be held Wednesday,
July 13 at 11:00a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with his grandsons to
speak and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Herring Cemetery.
Visitation was held Tuesday, July 12 from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Peck
Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jonathon Nelson, David Nelson, Todd Griffith, Jacob
Watts, Tyler Tucker, Garth Green, Tony Crow, Zack Moses and Derek Richards.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jude Griffith, Andrew Nelson, Tucker Moses,
